The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
By those (angels) that pluck out the soul from depths, 1 By those (angels) who gently take out (the souls of the believers); 2 by the angels who float (in the heavens by the will of God), 3 and yet overtake [one another] with swift overtaking: 4 Then those who regulate the affair. 5 The day on which the quaking one shall quake, 6 And there will follow it the next blast. 7 Hearts that Day will be in agitation; 8 while eyes will be downcast. 9 They say, "What? shall we be brought back to life, 10 What, when we are bones old and wasted?' 11 and they say, "That indeed would be a losing return." 12 Indeed, it will be but one shout, 13 When lo! they shall be wakeful. 14 Has the story of Moses come to you 15 His Lord called out to him by the sacred valley of Tuwa: 16 saying, "Go to the Pharaoh. He has transgressed beyond all bounds. 17 And say, "Hast thou the will to purify thyself; 18 Then I shall guide thee unto thy Lord so that thou shalt fear. 19 Then did (Moses) show him the Great Sign. 20 In response, he denied and disobeyed. 21 Then he turned his back, striving hard (against Allah). 22 then, he gathered, proclaimed, 23 Saying, "I am your Lord, Most High". 24 And thereupon God took him to task, [and made him] a warning example in the life to come as well as in this world. 25 Lo! herein is indeed a lesson for him who feareth. 26
