The Believers (Al-Mu' minoon)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
۞ TRULY, to a happy state shall attain the believers: 1 Who are humble in their prayers, 2 those who turn away from all that is frivolous; 3 And those who for the sake of purification are doers. 4 and who are mindful of their chastity, 5 Except from their wives or (the captives and slaves) that their right hands possess, for then, they are free from blame; 6 But whoever seeks beyond that, then those are the transgressors; 7 Those who are faithfully true to their Amanat (all the duties which Allah has ordained, honesty, moral responsibility and trusts etc.) and to their covenants; 8 and those who observe their prayers. 9 Those are the heirs 10 that shall inherit Paradise; and in it they shall abide for ever. 11 And indeed We created man (Adam) out of an extract of clay (water and earth). 12 Then We made him a small seed in a firm resting-place, 13 The living germ, then, was turned into a shapeless lump of flesh from which bones were formed. The bones, then, were covered with flesh. At this stage, We caused it to become another creature. All blessings belong to God, the best Creator. 14 Then indeed, after that you are to die. 15 Then verily on the Day of Judgment ye shall be raised up. 16 We have created seven paths above you; We have never been unmindful of Our creation. 17 We have sent a measure of water from the sky to stay on earth and We have the power to take it away. 18 With it, We produced for you gardens of palms and vines, yielding abundant fruit for you to eat. 19 Also a tree springing out of Mount Sinai, which produces oil, and relish for those who use it for food. 20 And most surely there is a lesson for you in the cattle: We make you to drink of what is in their bellies, and you have in them many advantages and of them you eat, 21 and by them - as by the ships [over the sea] - you are borne [overland]. 22
