And the chiefs of his people who disbelieved and called the meeting of the hereafter a lie, and whom We had given plenty to enjoy in this world's life, said: This is nothing but a mortal like yourselves, eating of what you eat from and drinking of what you drink. 33 And if you should obey a man like yourselves, indeed, you would then be losers. 34 Doth he promise you that you, when ye are dead and have become dust and bones, will (again) be brought forth? 35 ۞ What you are promised is indeed far-fetched. 36 This is our only life. We live and will die but we will never be brought back to life again. 37 He is but a man who hath fabricated against God a lie, and in him we are not going to be believers. 38 He said: O my Lord! help me against their calling me a liar. 39 (Allah) said: "In a little while, they are sure to be regretful." 40 Then a mighty blast quite justly overtook them, and We reduced them to a rubble. So away with the wrong-doing folk! 41 Then after them We raised other generations. 42 Every nation has an appointed life span. 43 And We sent forth Our apostles, one after another: [and] every time their apostle came to a community, they gave him the lie: and so We caused them to follow one another [into the grave,] and let them become [mere] tales: and so - away with the folk who would not believe! 44 Then We sent Musa (Moses) and his brother Harun (Aaron), with Our Ayat (proofs, evidences, verses, lessons, signs, revelations, etc.) and manifest authority, 45 unto Pharaoh and his Council; but they waxed proud, and they were a lofty people, 46 They said: "Shall we put faith in two mortals like ourselves when their people are slaves to us?" 47 So they rejected them and became of those who were destroyed. 48 And We gave Moses the Book, in order that they might receive guidance. 49 And We made the son of Maryam (Prophet Eisa) and his mother a sign, and We gave them shelter on a height, a place to stay and visible springs. 50
