Verily We bestowed Our favours on Moses and Aaron 114 and We saved them and their people from the awesome calamity [of bondage,] 115 And We helped them, so they were victorious. 116 And We gave them the clear Scripture 117 and guided them in the straight path, 118 and left for them among the later folk 119 "Peace be upon Moses and Aaron!" 120 This is how We reward those who do good: 121 truly they were among Our faithful servants. 122 And Ilyas was most surely of the apostles. 123 When he said to his people: "Will you not be mindful of God? 124 “What! You worship Baal (an idol) and leave the Best Creator?” – 125 "Allah, your Lord and Cherisher and the Lord and Cherisher of your fathers of old?" 126 But they denied him [Iliyas (Elias)], so they will certainly be brought forth (to the punishment), 127 Except the chosen slaves of Allah. 128 And We left for him among the posterity: 129 "Peace and salutation to such as Elias!" 130 Thus indeed do We reward those who do right. 131 He was among Our believing worshipers. 132 Lot too was one of the Envoys; 133 We rescued him and his whole family, 134 Save an old woman among the lingerers. 135 Then We destroyed the rest [i.e. the towns of Sodom at the place of the Dead Sea (now) in Palestine]. [See the "Book of History" by Ibn Kathir]. 136 And most surely you pass by them in the morning, 137 and at night. Do you still not understand? 138
