Incontestable (Al-Haaqqah)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
۞ The Inevitable Reality - 1 What is the Inevitable Calamity? 2 And what will make you know what the Reality is? 3 The Thamud and the Ad denied the (possibility of a) sudden calamity, calling it false. 4 As for Thamud, they were destroyed by the awful cry! 5 and as for the 'Ad - they were destroyed by a storm wind furiously raging, 6 Which He imposed on them for seven long nights and eight long days so that thou mightest have seen men lying overthrown, as they were hollow trunks of palm-trees. 7 Then do you see of them any remains? 8 And Firon and those before him and the overthrown cities continuously committed sins. 9 And they disobeyed the messenger of their Lord, therefor did He grip them with a tightening grip. 10 When the flood rose high and covered the whole land, We carried you in the Ark. 11 That We might make it unto you an admonition, and that it might be retained by the retaining ears. 12 With the first blast of sound from the trumpet, 13 and the earth and the mountains shall be lifted up and crushed with a single stroke! 14 on that Day, the Event occurs. 15 And the heaven shall cleave asunder, so that on that day it shall be frail, 16 On its fringes will be angels, eight of them, bearing their Lord's throne aloft. 17 The Day whereon ye shall be mustered nothing hidden by you shall be hidden. 18 Now as for him whose record shall be placed in his right hand, he will exclaim: "Come you all!" Read this my record! 19 Verily I was sure that I should be a meeter of my reckoning. 20 And he will be in a life of Bliss, 21 In an elevated garden, 22 The fruit clusters of which are hanging down. 23 (It will be said): 'Eat and drink with a good appetite because of what you did in days long passed' 24 And as for him who is given his book in his left hand he shall say: O would that my book had never been given me: 25 And I had not known what my account was: 26 How I wish my death had ended all. 27 “My wealth did not in the least benefit me.” 28 My authority is gone away from me. 29 Lay hold of him and chain him; 30 Then in the Scorch roast him 31 And string him to a chain seventy cubits long. 32 Verily, He used not to believe in Allah, the Most Great, 33 nor would he urge the feeding of the poor. 34 therefore he today has not here one loyal friend, 35 and the only food he has is filth 36 which none but the sinners eat!" 37
