Nay, and by the moon, 32 and the night when it retreats 33 And by oath of the morning, when it spreads light. 34 it is one of the greatest trials, 35 A warning to mankind, 36 A warning unto him of you who shall go forward or who chooseth to lag behind. 37 Each one is a hostage to one's deeds, 38 Except the companions of the right, 39 In Gardens (Paradise) they will ask one another, 40 about the guilty ones: 41 "What led you into Hell Fire?" 42 They shall say: We were not of those who prayed; 43 we fed not the needy, 44 We used to wade (in vain dispute) with (all) waders, 45 And we used to deny the Day of Judgment, 46 "Until there came to us (the Hour) that is certain." 47 So there will not benefit them the intercession of [any] intercessors. 48 Then what is the matter with them that they turn away from admonition?- 49 like frightened donkeys 50 Fleeing from a lion? 51 Indeed, everyone of them desires to have sheets of revelations unfolded before them -- 52 Never! In fact they do not fear the Hereafter. 53 No indeed; surely it is a Reminder; 54 So, whoever wills may benefit from it. 55 And they will not mind unless Allah please. He is worthy to be feared and worthy to forgive. 56
