Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
۞ I swear by the Day of Resurrection 1 And I swear by the self-reproaching person (a believer). 2 Deemest man that We shall not assemble his bones? 3 We certainly have the power to restore them even the very tips of their finger. 4 Nay, but man desires to continue on as a libertine, 5 He asks: “When will the Day of Resurrection be?” 6 When, then, the sight shall be confounded. 7 And the moon shall be ecliped. 8 and the sun and the moon are joined together, 9 on that Day will man exclaim "Whither to flee?" 10 Certainly not! There will be no place of refuge. 11 With your Lord alone will be the retreat that Day. 12 On that day man is told the tale of that which he hath sent before and left behind. 13 Aye! man against himself shall be an enlightenment. 14 Though he may put forth his excuses (to cover his evil deeds). 15 Move not your tongue with it, [O Muhammad], to hasten with recitation of the Qur'an. 16 Indeed, upon Us is its collection [in your heart] and [to make possible] its recitation. 17 Therefore when We have recited it, follow its recitation. 18 We shall be responsible for its explanation. 19 Nay! But you love the present life, 20 And leave the Hereafter. 21 On that day, some faces will shine with freshness. 22 Looking toward their Lord. 23 And on that Day there shall be scowling faces, 24 dreading some great affliction. 25 But, when (the soul) reaches the collar bone 26 And it is said: Who will be a magician? 27 and he thinks that it is the parting 28 and when leg is intertwined with leg, 29 unto thy Lord that Day is the drive. 30
