Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
By (the angels) sent forth with the commands of God, 1 By the raging hurricanes, 2 For the living and the dead, 3 then the criterion (the verses of Koran), separating 4 By those who bring down the Reminder, 5 To excuse or to warn, 6 that whatever with which you have been warned will inevitably come to pass. 7 Then when the stars become dim; 8 And when the sky is riven asunder, 9 And when the mountains are blown away; 10 and when all the apostles are called together at a time appointed... 11 to what day shall they be delayed? 12 Nor given leave to make excuses. 13 And what shall teach thee what is the Day of Decision? 14 Woe, that Day, to the deniers. 15 Did We not destroy the ancients 16 and make others settle after them in their land? 17 Thus deal We ever with the guilty. 18 And such fruits as they desire. 19 Did We not create you from a base fluid 20 then placed it in a secure repository [the womb], 21 till a known term decreed? 22 See that We had the power to do so. Great indeed is Our power to do what We will. 23 Alas the woe that day for those who deny! 24 Have We not made the earth a housing 25 the living and the dead? 26 and did We not firmly fix towering mountains on it and give you sweet water to drink? 27 Woe that day unto those who cry it lies! 28 [They will be told], "Proceed to that which you used to deny. 29 Proceed to a shadow rising in three columns: 30 [But having] no cool shade and availing not against the flame." 31 and throwing up sparks as huge as towers 32 As though they were camels yellow tawny. 33 Ah woe, that Day, to the Rejecters of Truth! 34 This is a day wherein they speak not, 35 Nor shall they be permitted so that they might excuse themselves. 36 Woe that Day to the deniers (of the Day of Resurrection)! 37 That will be a Day of Sorting out! We shall gather you together and those before (you)! 38 If now ye have any craft, try that craft upon Me. 39 Woe on that Day unto those who give the lie to the truth! 40
