In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
By the winds sent forth in swift succession, 1 and then storming on with a tempest's force, 2 by (the angels) spreading (the words of God) far and wide, 3 by (the angels) who make a clear distinction between right and wrong 4 And then by those that instil Remembrance into the hearts. 5 As justification or warning, 6 Indeed, what you are promised is to occur. 7 Then when the stars lose their lights; 8 The heavens split asunder, 9 The mountains will be blown away as dust. 10 And when the time of the Noble Messengers arrives. 11 For what day is it timed? 12 The Day of Judgement. 13 And what will make you comprehend what the day of decision is? 14 Woe on that day unto the beliers 15 Did We not destroy many a nation of the earlier times? 16 And We shall let them be followed by those of later times: 17 So We serve the sinners. 18 Woe on that day unto the beliers! 19 Have We not created you from a fluid (held) despicable?- 20 which We placed within a sure lodging 21 for an appointed term? 22 So We decreed. How excellent are We as decreers! 23 Woe on that day unto the beliers! 24 Have We not made the earth a receptacle 25 Both for the living and the dead, 26 And have placed therein firm and tall mountains and given you to drink of water fresh 27 Woe on that Day unto those who give the lie to the truth! 28 Walk on to that which you called a lie. 29 Proceed to a shadow rising in three columns: 30 Neither having the coolness of the shade nor availing against the flame. 31 Indeed hell throws up sparks like huge castles. 32 As if they were Jimalatun Sufr (yellow camels or bundles of ropes)." 33 Woe unto the repudiators on that day! 34 That will be a Day when they shall not speak (during some part of it), 35 Nor will it be permitted for them to make an excuse. 36 Alas the woe that day for those who deny! 37 Such is the Day of Decision. We will gather you with the ancients. 38 So if you have a plan, plan against Me (now). 39 Woe on that Day to those who reject the truth! 40
