The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
WHEN THE SUN is folded up, 1 when the stars are thrown down, 2 And when the mountains shall made to pass away; 3 when ten-month pregnant camels are left untended, 4 And when the wild beasts shall be gathered together, 5 When the oceans surge and swell, 6 when the souls are coupled (to their body), 7 and when the girl-child that was buried alive is made to ask 8 for what offence was she killed? 9 the records of deeds are made public, 10 when heaven shall be stripped off; 11 and when Hell is set ablaze, 12 And when the garden is brought nigh, 13 [on that Day] every human being will come to know what he has prepared [for himself]. 14 Rather, I swear by the returning 15 that hide, 16 And the close of night, 17 and the morn as it breathes. 18 Verily this is the word of a most honourable Messenger, 19 [Who is] possessed of power and with the Owner of the Throne, secure [in position], 20 Obeyed (by the angels), trustworthy there (in the heavens). 21 Your companion (Muhammad) does not suffer from any mental illness 22 And indeed he (Muhammad (Peace be upon him)) saw him [Jibrael (Gabriel)] in the clear horizon (towards the east). 23 he is not grudging of the Unseen. 24 Nor is it the word of an evil spirit accursed. 25 Where then will you go? 26 This is merely a reminder to all mankind; 27 For him among you who pleases to go straight. 28 And you do not please except that Allah please, the Lord of the worlds. 29
