Shattering (Al-Infitaar)
19 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat) before The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
۞ When the heavens are rent asunder, 1 And when the stars shall be scattered, 2 And when the oceans are swept away. 3 And when the graves are ransacked, 4 (Then) shall each soul know what it hath sent forward and (what it hath) kept back. 5 O Man! What deceived thee as to thy generous Lord 6 Who created you, shaped you, and made you well-proportioned, 7 and set you in whatever form He pleased? 8 Even then you deny the Judgement. 9 And indeed, [appointed] over you are keepers, 10 The honourable recorders. 11 They know what you do. 12 As for the Righteous, they will be in bliss; 13 And lo! the wicked verily will be in hell; 14 They will [enter to] burn therein on the Day of Recompense, 15 and from it they shall never be absent. 16 And what shall make thee know whatsoever the Day of Requital is? 17 Again, what could let you know what the Day of Recompense is! 18 It is the day when no soul will have power to do the least for a soul, and God's alone will be done. 19
