We gave Moses the Book, and appointed with him his brother Aaron as minister 35 We told them, "Both of you go to the people who have rejected Our revelations." We completely destroyed these unbelievers. 36 And Nuh's (Noah) people, when they denied the Messengers We drowned them, and We made them as a sign for mankind. And We have prepared a painful torment for the Zalimun (polytheists and wrong-doers, etc). 37 And the 'Aad and the Thamud and the dwellers of the Rass and many generations in-between. 38 We gave guidance and drove each to destruction. 39 And assuredly they have gone by the township whereon was rained the evil rain. Are they not wont to see it? Aye! they expect not Resurrection. 40 When they see you they take you only in jest: "Is this the one whom God has sent as messenger? 41 Had we not been steadfast he would almost have led us astray from our gods." On facing torment they will soon know who had really gone astray. 42 Hast thou observed him who hath taken as his god his own desire! wilt thou be over him a trustee? 43 Or deemest thou that most of them hear or understand? They are but as the cattle - nay, but they are farther astray? 44
