Hast thou not regarded those who dispute concerning the signs of God, how they are turned about? 69 Those who reject the Book and that with which We have sent Our Apostle; but they shall soon come to know, 70 When carcans are about their necks and chains. They are dragged 71 into boiling water and then they will be burned in the fire. 72 Then it will be said to them: "Where are (all) those whom you used to join in worship as partners 73 "In derogation of Allah?" They will reply: "They have left us in the lurch: Nay, we invoked not, of old, anything (that had real existence)." Thus does Allah leave the Unbelievers to stray. 74 “This is the recompense of your being happy upon falsehood in the earth, and the recompense of your conceit.” 75 Enter the gates of hell to live therein forever. How terrible is the dwelling of the arrogant ones. 76 So you persevere with patience (in your mission). The promise of God is true. Whether We show you some of the punishment We have promised them, or gather you up in death, they have to come back to Us. 77 We did aforetime send messengers before thee: of them there are some whose story We have related to thee, and some whose story We have not related to thee. It was not (possible) for any messenger to bring a sign except by the leave of Allah: but when the Command of Allah issued, the matter was decided in truth and justice, and there perished, there and then those who stood on Falsehoods. 78
