Al-Saaffaat 4 of 5
Verily We bestowed Our favours on Moses and Aaron 114 and We saved them with their nation from a great distress. 115 And We helped them, so they overcame (their troubles); 116 And We gave them both the Book that made (things) clear. 117 guided them to the right path, 118 and preserved for them a good name among posterity. 119 Peace be upon Moses and Aaron. 120 Even thus do We reward the doers of good. 121 Indeed, they were of Our believing servants. 122 And indeed Ilyas is one of the Noble Messengers. 123 (Call to mind) when he said to his people: “Will you not fear Allah? 124 "Will ye call upon Baal and forsake the Best of Creators,- 125 God, your Lord, and the Lord of your fathers?" 126 And they denied him, so indeed, they will be brought [for punishment], 127 Except the bondmen of Allah sincere. 128 And we left for him among the later folk (the salutation): 129 Peace be on Elias. 130 As such We recompense the gooddoers. 131 Surely he was one of Our believing servants. 132 So also was Lut among those sent (by Us). 133 When We rescued him and his entire household. 134 except an old woman who lingered, 135 Then We destroyed the rest [i.e. the towns of Sodom at the place of the Dead Sea (now) in Palestine]. [See the "Book of History" by Ibn Kathir]. 136 You pass by their ruins morning 137 and night: will you not take heed? 138

How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
