Then the people of Lot rejected the messengers. 160 When their brother Lot said to them, "Will you not fear Allah? 161 Verily I am unto you an apostle trusted. 162 So fear Allah, and obey me. 163 "No reward do I ask of you for it: my reward is only from the lord of the Worlds. 164 What, do you come to male beings, 165 keeping yourselves aloof from all the [lawful] spouses whom your Sustainer has created for you? Nay, but you are people who transgress all bounds of what is right!" 166 They said: If thou cease not, O Lot, thou wilt soon be of the outcast. 167 He said, "I certainly hate what you practice. 168 [And then he prayed:] "O my Sustainer! Save me and my household from all that they are doing!" 169 So We delivered him and his household all. 170 except an old woman who was among those that stayed behind. 171 Thereafter We annihilated the rest. 172 And We rained upon them a rain [of stones], and evil was the rain of those who were warned. 173 Surely, in that there is a sign. Yet most of them do not believe. 174 Your Lord, He is the Almighty, the Most Merciful. 175
