The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
When the sun is wrapped up [in darkness] 1 And when the stars darken, 2 the mountains are scattered about as dust, 3 The ten-month pregnant female camels are abandoned, 4 when the savage beasts shall be mustered, 5 And when the seas are set on fire, 6 and when all human beings are coupled [with their deeds,] 7 and when the female infant buried alive is asked 8 for what sin she was killed, 9 when the scrolls shall be unrolled, 10 When the world on High is unveiled; 11 when Hell is set ablaze, 12 and when paradise is brought into view: 13 then shall a soul know what it has produced. 14 Rather, I swear by the returning 15 That run their course (and) hide themselves, 16 And the Night as it dissipates; 17 And the morning when it brightens, 18 it is indeed the word of an Honorable Messenger, 19 Full of power, well-established with the Lord and Master of the Throne, 20 who is obeyed there and is worthy of trust. 21 And (O people!) your companion is not one possessed; 22 he truly beheld him [the angel] on the clear horizon. 23 And he (Muhammad (Peace be upon him)) withholds not a knowledge of the unseen. 24 nor is it a word of an accursed Satan. 25 Whither then will you go? 26 This is naught but an admonition unto the worlds 27 to everyone of you who wills to walk a straight way. 28 And you do not please except that Allah please, the Lord of the worlds. 29
