Overwhelming (Al-Ghaasheyah)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
Have you heard about the Overwhelming Event? 1 (Some) faces on that day shall be downcast, 2 labouring, toilworn, 3 They will [enter to] burn in an intensely hot Fire. 4 their drink shall be from a boiling spring. 5 No food for them save the bitterness of dry thorns, 6 Which neither give strength nor satisfy the hunger. 7 Some faces on that Day will be radiant, 8 well-pleased with their striving. 9 In a lofty Paradise. 10 where they will hear no idle talk. 11 Therein will be a running spring, 12 Therein shall be couches elevated! 13 and goblets set at hand, 14 And cushions set in rows, 15 And rich carpets (all) spread out. 16 What, do they not reflect upon how the camel was created? 17 And the heavens, how it was raised high; 18 And the mountains: how they were fixed? 19 And at the earth - how it is spread out? 20 Remind them; you are surely a reminder. 21 thou art not charged to oversee them. 22 But whoso is averse and disbelieveth, 23 will be punished by God with the greatest punishment. 24 Indeed only towards Us is their return 25 Then surely upon Us is the taking of their account. 26
