The Night (Al-Layl)
21 verses, revealed in Mecca after The All High (Al-A'alaa) before Dawn (Al-Fajr)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
By the night when it envelopeth, 1 and the day as it rises bright! 2 And Him who created the male and female, 3 O men, you truly strive towards the most diverse ends! 4 As for he who gives and fears Allah 5 And believes in Al-Husna. 6 Unto him therefore We shall indeed make easy the path to ease. 7 But as for he who withholds and considers himself free of need 8 And who belieth the Good, 9 So We will very soon provide him hardship. 10 And his wealth will not avail him when he perishes. 11 BEHOLD, it is indeed for Us to grace [you] with guidance; 12 And verily unto Us (belong) the End and the Beginning. 13 I have now warned you of a Blazing Fire, 14 None shall reach it but those most unfortunate ones 15 Who give the lie to Truth and turn their backs. 16 Far removed from it will be the righteous 17 one who gives his wealth to become purified, 18 and confers no favour on any man for recompense, 19 Except only the desire to seek the Countenance of his Lord, the Most High; 20 He surely will be pleased (when he will enter Paradise). 21
God the Almighty always says the truth.
