Al-Duhaa

The Forenoon (Al-Duhaa)

11 verses, revealed in Mecca after Dawn (Al-Fajr) before Cooling the Temper (Al-Sharrhh)

In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate

By the midday brightness 1 and by the night when it covers the world with peace: 2 Thy Lord hath not forsaken thee, nor is He displeased. 3 And verily the latter portion will be better for thee than the former, 4 And indeed your Lord will soon give you so much that you will be pleased. (Allah seeks to please the Holy Prophet – peace and blessings be upon him.) 5 Did He not find thee an orphan and give thee shelter (and care)? 6 Did He not find you unaware of the Right Way, and then directed you to it? 7 Did He not find thee destitute and enrich (thee)? 8 So do not oppress the orphan, 9 And do not drive the beggar away, 10 and as for thy Lord's blessing, declare it. 11

True are the words of Allah the Almighty.
