۞ And your Lord has decreed that you not worship except Him, and to parents, good treatment. Whether one or both of them reach old age [while] with you, say not to them [so much as], "uff," and do not repel them but speak to them a noble word. 23 And lower unto them the wing of submission and humility through mercy, and say: "My Lord! Bestow on them Your Mercy as they did bring me up when I was small." 24 Your Lord knows best what is in your hearts; if you are righteous, He is most forgiving to those who constantly turn to Him. 25 Give the relatives, the destitute and those who when on a journey have become needy, their dues. 26 Verily spendthrifts are brothers of the Evil Ones; and the Evil One is to his Lord (himself) ungrateful. 27 And if thou turnest away from them awaiting a mercy from thy Lord which thou hopest, then speak unto them a gentle speech. 28 And do not make your hand to be shackled to your neck nor stretch it forth to the utmost (limit) of its stretching forth, lest you should (afterwards) sit down blamed, stripped off. 29 Your Lord gives abundantly to whom He will and sparingly to whom He pleases. He is informed and observant about His servants. 30
