Drivers of the Winds (Al-Dhaareyaat)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
By the swift scatterers 1 and the burden-bearers 2 Then by oath of those which move with ease. 3 by the angels which distribute the affairs, 4 Verily, that which you are promised (i.e. Resurrection in the Hereafter and receiving the reward or punishment of good or bad deeds, etc.) is surely true. 5 and the recompense shall surely happen. 6 By the heaven full of paths, 7 Verily ye are in a divided opinion. 8 He is turned away from it who would be turned away. 9 Woe to the falsehood-mongers,- 10 Who are within a flood [of confusion] and heedless. 11 They ask, “When will be the Day of Judgement?” 12 [It will be] a Day when they will be sorely tried by the fire, 13 And it will be said to them, “Taste your own roasting; this is what you were impatient for.” 14 The pious ones will live amidst gardens and springs, 15 receiving their reward from their Lord. They had been righteous people before the Day of Judgment. 16 They slept but a little at night, 17 And in the hours before dawn they would ask forgiveness, 18 And in their substance was the right of the beggar and non-beggar. 19 There are signs in the earth for those who are firm in their faith, 20 there are signs for firm believers. Do you not see then? 21 And in the heaven is your provision and that which ye are promised. 22 So by the Lord of heaven and earth, it is as true as your speech. 23
