The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
WHEN THE SUN is folded up, 1 And when the stars darken, 2 and when the mountains are moved, 3 when the pregnant camels are neglected, 4 And when wild animals are herded together. 5 And when the seas are filled with flame 6 when the souls shall be rejoined (with their bodies), 7 And when the female (infant) buried alive (as the pagan Arabs used to do) shall be questioned. 8 for what sin she was slain, 9 when the records of men's deeds are laid open, 10 when heaven is stripped, 11 And when the Scorch shall be made to blaze, 12 and Paradise brought nigh: 13 Every soul will then come know what it has brought. 14 So, I call the receding stars to witness, 15 The planets withdrawing into themselves, 16 And by the night as it closes in 17 And the Dawn as it breathes away the darkness;- 18 Verily, this is the Word (this Quran brought by) a most honourable messenger [Jibrael (Gabriel), from Allah to the Prophet Muhammad (Peace be upon him)]. 19 Mighty, established in the presence of the Lord of the Throne, 20 who is obeyed there and is worthy of trust. 21 Your Companion is not mad, 22 And without doubt he saw him in the clear horizon. 23 Neither doth he withhold grudgingly a knowledge of the Unseen. 24 Nor is this the word of an outcast devil. 25 So where are you going? 26 This is certainly the guidance for all (jinn and mankind). 27 to everyone of you who wills to walk a straight way. 28 And ye will not, unless (it be) that Allah willeth, the Lord of Creation. 29
