Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
۞ Nay! I swear by the day of resurrection. 1 And by oath of the soul that reproaches itself. 2 What, does the human think We shall never gather his bones? 3 Nay, We are able to put together in perfect order the very tips of his fingers. 4 But man desires to continue in sin. 5 He asks: "When will the Day of Resurrection be?" 6 When the sight is dazed, 7 And the moon becomes dark, 8 And the sun and moon are joined together,- 9 On that day man will cry: Whither to flee! 10 Certainly not! There will be no place of refuge. 11 On that day, the station is only towards your Lord. 12 On that Day, man will be told of all that he has sent before and what he has left behind. 13 Rather, man, against himself, will be a witness, 14 even though he may veil himself in excuses. 15 Move not thy tongue concerning the (Qur'an) to make haste therewith. 16 Ours it is to gather it, and to recite it. 17 So, when We recite it, follow thou its recitation. 18 Then Ours it is to explain it. 19 None except you, O disbelievers – you love what you have, the fleeting one. 20 and are heedless of the Everlasting Life. 21 Some faces that Day shall be Nadirah (shining and radiant). 22 Looking toward their Lord. 23 And [some] faces, that Day, will be contorted, 24 thou mightest think the Calamity has been wreaked on them. 25 Nay! When it comes up to the throat, 26 And it is said: Who will be a magician? 27 and he realises that the hour of parting is come, 28 And the leg is wound about the leg, 29 at that time towards thy Sustainer does he feel impelled to turn! 30
