Al-Layl
The Night (Al-Layl)
21 verses, revealed in Mecca after The All High (Al-A'alaa) before Dawn (Al-Fajr)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
By the night when it covers the day, 1 and the day as it rises bright! 2 and by the creation of the male and the female. 3 Certainly, your efforts and deeds are diverse (different in aims and purposes); 4 Then as for him who giveths and feareth Him. 5 And believeth in goodness; 6 observe piety, and believe in receiving rewards from God. 7 But for those who are niggardly, horde their wealth, 8 And gives the lie to the best,- 9 We shall pave his way to hardship, 10 Nor will his wealth profit him when he falls headlong (into the Pit). 11 BEHOLD, it is indeed for Us to grace [you] with guidance; 12 and to Us belong the hereafter and the worldly life. 13 Therefore I have warned you of a Fire blazing fiercely (Hell); 14 [the fire] which none shall have to endure but that most hapless wretch 15 Who belieth and turneth away. 16 For, distant from it shall remain he who is truly conscious of God: 17 He who gives his wealth to be purified, 18 and confers no favor upon anyone for recompense 19 Except the seeking of the pleasure of his Lord, the Most High. 20 He will surely be well-pleased (with him). 21

How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
