S (Saad)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
Sad. By the Qur'an containing reminder... 1 But nay - they who are bent on denying the truth are lost in [false] pride, and [hence] deeply in the wrong. 2 How many generations have We destroyed before them who cried (for mercy) when it was too late for escape. 3 Now these [people] deem it strange that a warner should have come unto them from their own midst - and [so] the deniers of the truth are saying: "A [mere] spellbinder is he, a liar! 4 Maketh he the gods One Allah? Lo! that is an astounding thing. 5 And the Council of them depart, saying 'Go! Be steadfast to your gods; this is a thing to be desired. 6 We never heard of this in the former faith; this is nothing but a forgery: 7 Has the reminder been revealed to him from among us? Nay! they are in doubt as to My reminder. Nay! they have not yet tasted My chastisement! 8 Or do they hold the treasures of the mercy of your Lord, the Almighty, the Great Bestower? 9 Or, is theirs the dominion of the heavens and the earth and that which is in-between the twain? If so, let them ascend by steps. 10 But there - will be put to flight even a host of confederates. 11 The people of Noah, Ad and the dominating Pharaoh had rejected Our revelations. 12 And Thamud, and the people of Lut, and the Companions of the Wood; - such were the Confederates. 13 not one [was there] but gave the lie to the apostles - and thereupon My retribution fell due. 14
