And recite to them the story of Ibrahim (Abraham). 69 When he said to his father and his people: "What do you worship?" 70 They replied: 'We worship idols and continue cleaving to them' 71 He said: Do they hear you when you call? 72 Or do they profit you or cause you harm? 73 They said, "But we found our fathers doing thus." 74 He said, “Do you see these – (the idols) whom you worship?” 75 and what your grandfathers worshipped 76 "Verily! They are enemies to me, save the Lord of the 'Alamin (mankind, jinns and all that exists); 77 who created me; and He guides me, 78 and He gives me to eat and drink, 79 and heals me when I am sick. 80 who makes me to die and then revives me, 81 It is He whom I expect to forgive my sins on the Day of Judgment. 82 "O my Sustainer! Endow me with the ability to judge [between right and wrong,] and make me one with the righteous, 83 Make my words come true in the future. 84 And place me among the inheritors of the Garden of Delight, 85 And forgive my father. Indeed, he has been of those astray. 86 And disgrace me not on the Day when (all the creatures) will be resurrected; 87 The day when wealth and sons avail not (any man) 88 Except him who brings to Allah a clean heart [clean from Shirk (polytheism) and Nifaq (hypocrisy)]. 89 For, [on that Day,] paradise will be brought within sight of the God-conscious, 90 and Hell shall be revealed to the misguided, 91 And it will be said to them, “Where are those whom you used to worship?” 92 beside Allah? Can they be of any help to you, or even be of any help to themselves?" 93 Then they will be thrown on their faces into the (Fire), They and the Ghawun (devils, and those who were in error). 94 "And the whole hosts of Iblis together. 95 And they will say, when they are quarrelling therein: 96 "By Allah, we were indeed in manifest error 97 when we considered you equal to the Lord of the Universe. 98 And none but the guilty led us astray; 99 So now we have no intercessors 100 nor a loving friend. 101 Would that we had a second chance [in life,] so that we could be among the believers!" 102 Lo! herein is indeed a portent, yet most of them are not believers! 103 And verily, your Lord! He is truly the All-Mighty, the Most Merciful. 104
