Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
By the winds sent forth with beneficence. 1 And those that strike violently, 2 By the spreading winds spreading. 3 thus separating [right and wrong] with all clarity, 4 by those who bring down the reminder, 5 to provide excuses for some and to give warnings to others: 6 BEHOLD, all that you are told to expect will surely come to pass. 7 When the stars are extinguished, 8 when heaven shall be split 9 And when the mountains are blown away, 10 The Messengers will receive their appointments. 11 For what Day are these (portents) deferred? 12 To the Day of Judgement. 13 What do you know what the Day of Judgement is? 14 Woe on that Day to those who reject the truth. 15 Did We not destroy [so many of] those [sinners] of olden days? 16 We shall then send the latter after them. 17 [for] thus do We deal with such as are lost in sin. 18 Woe on that Day to those who belied it! 19 Did We not create you from a liquid disdained? 20 which We placed within a sure lodging 21 For a known calculated term. 22 For We do determine (according to need); for We are the best to determine (things). 23 Woe on that Day to those who reject the truth! 24 Have We not made the earth a container 25 Both for the living and the dead, 26 And have placed therein firm, and tall mountains; and have given you to drink sweet water? 27 Woe on that Day to those who reject the truth! 28 [They will be told], "Proceed to that which you used to deny. 29 Proceed to a shadow [of smoke] having three columns 30 which neither gives shade nor protects one from the flames. 31 and throwing up sparks as huge as towers 32 As if they were tawny camels. 33 Woe on that Day to those who belied it! 34 This is a day wherein they speak not, 35 And permission shall not be given to them so that they should offer excuses. 36 Alas the woe that day for those who deny! 37 That will be a Day of Decision! We have brought you and the men of old together! 38 So if you have any plot to devise against Me, then devise it. 39 Woe on that Day to those who belied it! 40
