The Poets (Alshu'araa')

227 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Inevitable (Al-Waaqe'ah) before The Ant (Al-Naml)

In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful

۞ Ta, Seen, Meem. 1 These are verses of the Book that makes (things) clear. 2 Wouldst thou, perhaps, torment thyself to death [with grief] because they [who live around thee] refuse to believe [in it]? 3 If We please, We should send down upon them a sign from the heaven so that their necks should stoop to it. 4 And there cometh not unto them any fresh admonition from the Compassionate but they are wont to be therefrom backsliders. 5 So they have indeed denied (the truth - this Quran), then the news of what they mocked at, will come to them. 6 What, have they not regarded the earth, how many therein We have caused to grow of every generous kind? 7 In this, behold, there is a message [unto men,] even though most of them will not believe [in it]. 8 And most surely your Lord is the Mighty, the Merciful. 9
