The dwellers of the Thicket belied their Messengers. 176 Recall, when Shuayb said to them: "Have you no fear? 177 Surely I am a faithful apostle to you; 178 Therefore guard against (the punishment of) Allah and obey me: 179 I ask of you no recompense for this; my reward is only with the Lord of the Universe. 180 ۞ "[Always] give full measure, and be not among those who [unjustly] cause loss [to others]; 181 Weigh on an even balance. 182 “And do not give the people their goods diminished, and do not roam the earth causing turmoil.” 183 and have fear of Him Who created you and the earlier generations." 184 They said: "Thou art only one of those bewitched! 185 You are but a man like ourselves, and indeed, we think you are among the liars. 186 “Therefore cause a part of the sky to fall upon us, if you are of the truthful.” 187 He said, "My Lord knows all that you do." 188 But they belied him, then the punishment of the Day of Shadow (raining fire) seized them. Truly, it was the punishment of a dreadful day. 189 In this there is an evidence of the Truth, but many of them did not have any faith. 190 And indeed, your Lord - He is the Exalted in Might, the Merciful. 191
