Shattering (Al-Infitaar)
19 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat) before The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ WHEN THE SKY is split asunder, 1 When the planets are dispersed, 2 when the seas swarm over, 3 and when the graves are laid open: 4 then everyone will know what he has sent ahead, and what he has left behind. 5 O man! What hath made thee careless concerning thy Lord, the Bountiful, 6 Who created you, proportioned you, and balanced you? 7 He moulded you into whatever shape He willed. 8 Despite this, you deny the Day of Judgment, 9 Lo! there are above you guardians, 10 The honourable recorders. 11 aware of whatever you do! 12 Surely the pious shall be in bliss, 13 whereas, behold, the wicked will indeed be in a blazing fire 14 Roasted they shall be therein on the Day of Requital. 15 to burn therein. 16 What could let you know what the Day of Recompense is! 17 And once again: What could make thee conceive what that Judgment Day will be? 18 On that day, no soul will be of any benefit to any other soul. On that day, all affairs will be in the hands of God. 19
Allah Almighty has spoken the truth.
