The Cheaters (Al-Mutaffifeen)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
WOE TO THOSE who give short measure, 1 Those who when they take the measure from others, take it in full! 2 but, when they measure for them or weigh for them, do skimp. 3 Do they not think that they will be resurrected 4 on a great day 5 the Day when all men shall stand before the Sustainer of all the worlds? 6 No indeed, the Book of the immoral is in Sijjeen. 7 and what shall teach thee what is Sijjin? 8 A record of misdeeds written. 9 Woe, on that Day, to those who reject, 10 those who deny the Day of Judgement. 11 Which none denieth save each criminal transgressor, 12 who, when listening to Our revelations, say, "These are only ancient legends". 13 No! Rather, the stain has covered their hearts of that which they were earning. 14 Nay! Surely, they (evil-doers) will be veiled from seeing their Lord that Day. 15 and then they shall enter Hell, 16 and it will be said to them: 'This is that which you belied' 17 No! Indeed, the record of the righteous is in 'illiyyun. 18 And what will make thee know whatsoever the record in Illiyun is? 19 It is [their destination recorded in] a register inscribed 20 Those who are drawn near (to Allah) shall witness it. 21 Surely the pious shall be in bliss, 22 Reclining on couches, looking on. 23 You will recognize in their faces the brightness of bliss. 24 as they are given to drink of a wine sealed 25 its seal is musk, for this let the competitors compete; 26 and its mixture is Tasneem, 27 A fountain whereof will drink those brought nigh. 28 The sinners had been laughing at the believers. 29 and winked at one another as they passed them by. 30 and when they returned to their own people, they would speak of them jestingly; 31 On seeing the believers, they would say, "These people have gone astray". 32 Yet they were not sent as watchers over them. 33 But this Day (the Day of Resurrection) those who believe will laugh at the disbelievers 34 Reclining on couches, looking on. 35 The infidels have indeed been rewarded for that which they had been doing. 36
