The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ When the heavens are rent asunder 1 and gives ear to its Lord, and is fitly disposed; 2 And when the earth has been extended 3 And shall cast forth that which is therein, and shall become empty. 4 And has responded to its Lord and was obligated [to do so] - 5 O man, having striven hard towards your Lord, you shall meet Him: 6 Then he who is given his Record in his right hand, 7 His account shall presently be taken by an easy reckoning. 8 And he shall return unto his people joyfully. 9 But as for him whose record shall be given to him behind his back; 10 Soon he will pray for death. 11 And [enter to] burn in a Blaze. 12 He lived rejoicing among his people, 13 Verily he imagined that he would not be back. 14 Yea! his Lord had ever been beholding him. 15 I swear by the twilight; 16 or by the night in which things all come together to rest, 17 And the moon when it grows full, 18 you shall surely ride stage after stage. 19 What aileth them then, that they believe not, 20 And when the Quran is recited to them, they fall not prostrate, ۩ 21 In fact, they reject the Quran, 22 And Allah knows best what they gather (of good and bad deeds), 23 Therefore give them the glad tidings of a painful punishment. 24 except the righteously striving believers, who will receive a never-ending reward. 25
