The Night (Al-Layl)
21 verses, revealed in Mecca after The All High (Al-A'alaa) before Dawn (Al-Fajr)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
By the night as it veils [the earth] in darkness, 1 And by oath of the day when it shines 2 And by Him Who created male and female; 3 Verily your endeavour is diverse. 4 As for him who giveth and is dutiful (toward Allah) 5 And believes in the best [reward], 6 We will indeed make smooth for him the path to Bliss. 7 But he who is a greedy miser and thinks himself self-sufficient, 8 And rejects the best, 9 We shall surely ease for him the Path of Hardship (the Fire). 10 and his wealth shall be of no avail to him when he perishes. 11 Surely, in Our hands is guidance, 12 And truly, unto Us (belong) the last (Hereafter) and the first (this world). 13 Wherefore I have warned you of Fire flaming, 14 in which none shall be roasted except the most wretched sinner, 15 who have rejected the (Truth) and have turned away from it. 16 One who fears God shall be kept away from it -- 17 one who gives his wealth to become purified, 18 And no one has done a favour to him, for which he should be compensated. 19 only seeking the Face of his Lord the Most High; 20 And soon will they attain (complete) satisfaction. 21
Allah the Almighty always says the truth.
