The Embryo (Al-Alaq)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
Recite: In the Name of thy Lord who created, 1 He created man from a clot. 2 Recite: and your Lord is Most Generous, 3 who has taught [man] the use of the pen 4 Taught man that which he knew not. 5 Nay, but verily man is rebellious 6 That he thinketh himself independent! 7 Verily, to thy Lord is the return (of all). 8 Seest thou one who forbids- 9 A votary when he (turns) to pray? 10 Seest thou if he is on (the road of) Guidance?- 11 Or had enjoined piety, (it would have been better)? 12 Do you see how he has denied the truth and turned away from it? 13 Did he not realise that Allah is watching? 14 No indeed; surely, if he gives not over, We shall seize him by the forelock, 15 a lying, sinful forelock. 16 Let him call on his associates for help 17 We, will call the Zabania (the harsh angels of Hell). 18 Nay! obey him not, and make obeisance and draw nigh (to Allah). ۩ 19
God Almighty has spoken the truth.
