People of Hijr rejected the Messengers. 80 We brought them signs, but they turned away. 81 And they used to carve dwellings in the hills, without fear. 82 But the (Awful) Cry overtook them at the morning hour, 83 and whatever they had been earning proved of no avail. 84 We created not the heavens, the earth, and all between them, but for just ends. And the Hour is surely coming (when this will be manifest). So overlook (any human faults) with gracious forgiveness. 85 Surely your Lord is the All Knowing Creator! 86 We have indeed bestowed on you the seven oft-repeated verses and the Great Qur'an. 87 Strain not thine eyes. (Wistfully) at what We have bestowed on certain classes of them, nor grieve over them: but lower thy wing (in gentleness) to the believers. 88 And say thou: verily I! I am a plain warner. 89 As We have sent down on the dividers, (Quraish pagans or Jews and Christians). 90 (So also on such) as have made Qur'an into shreds (as they please). 91 Them, by thy Lord, We shall question, every one, 92 About what they used to do. 93 Proclaim then, what you are commanded and turn away from the unbelievers. 94 We shall help you against those who mock you 95 Those who set up another god with Allah; so they shall soon know. 96 We are well aware that you are disheartened by what they say. 97 Exalt with the praise of your Lord and be one of those who prostrate. 98 Worship your Lord till the certainty (death) comes to you. 99
