Do you not see how your Lord stretches the shadow? Had it been His will, He could have made it constant. Then He appointed the sun to be a guide to it; 45 thereafter We seize it to Ourselves, drawing it gently. 46 And He it is who makes the night a garment for you, and [your] sleep a rest, and causes every [new] day to be a resurrection. 47 It is He who sends the winds to you with the glad news of His mercy and who sends purifying rain from the sky 48 so that We might revive a dead land, and give to drink of it, of that We created, cattle and men a many. 49 We have explained it to them in diverse ways, so that they may take heed, but most persist in their ingratitude. 50 And had We willed, We would have raised a warner in every town. 51 So obey not the disbelievers, but strive against them herewith with a great endeavour. 52 ۞ And it is He who hath mixed the two seas: this, sweet and thirst quenching; that, saltish and bitter; and hath placed between the twain a barrier and a great partition complete. 53 And it is He who created of water a mortal, and made him kindred of blood and marriage; thy Lord is All-powerful. 54 And they serve, apart from God, what neither profits them nor hurts them; and the unbeliever is ever a partisan against his Lord. 55 We have sent you for no other reason but to be a bearer of glad news and warning. 56 Say: I ask of you no reward for this, save that whoso will may choose a way unto his Lord. 57 And trust thou in the Living One who dieth not, and hallow His praise; it sufficeth that He of the sins of His bondmen is Aware. 58 who created the heavens and the earth, and what between them is, in six days, then sat Himself upon the Throne, the All-compassionate: ask any informed of Him! 59 And when it is said to them: Prostrate to the Beneficent Allah, they say: And what is the Allah of beneficence? Shall we prostrate to what you bid us? And it adds to their aversion. ۩ 60
