Drivers of the Winds (Al-Dhaareyaat)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
By the winds which carry dust particles, 1 And those [clouds] carrying a load [of water] 2 by the ships which smoothly sail on the oceans, 3 Then those (angels who) distribute blessings by Our command; 4 surely what you are being warned against is true, 5 and surely the Doom is about to fall! 6 By the heaven with its passages, 7 Indeed, you are in differing speech. 8 From which only he turns who is turned away. 9 Perish the conjecturers 10 who are steeped in ignorance and heedlessness. 11 They ask, “When will be the Day of Judgement?” 12 [It will be] a Day when they will be sorely tried by the fire, 13 'Taste your trial! This is that you were seeking to hasten.' 14 Verily, the Muttaqun (pious - see V. 2:2) will be in the midst of Gardens and Springs (in the Paradise), 15 Accepting what their Lord has given them. Indeed, they were before that doers of good. 16 They used to sleep only a little during the night. 17 And every morning asked forgiveness, 18 And the beggar and the destitute had a share in their wealth. 19 In the earth are signs for those having sure faith; 20 And in your own selves; so can you not perceive? 21 And in the heaven is your provision and whatever you are promised. 22 This, by the Lord of the heavens and the earth is as certain as your ability to speak. 23
