The Comet (Al-Taareq)
17 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
By the heaven and the night-comer 1 And what will explain to thee what the Night-Visitant is?- 2 It is the piercing star - 3 There is no soul but has a protector over it. 4 So man must consider from what he has been created. 5 he was created of gushing water 6 which comes out of the loins and ribs. 7 Surely, He is Able to bring him back, 8 On the Day when secrets are disclosed, 9 he will have no power, nor anyone to help him. 10 So I call to witness the rain-producing sky, 11 by earth splitting with verdure, 12 the Quran is the final word, 13 it is no merriment. 14 They are hatching up a plot, 15 But I am planning a plan. 16 So leave the unbelievers to themselves; respite them awhile. 17
