The Backbiter (Al-Hummazah)
9 verses, revealed in Mecca after Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah) before Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
Woe to every slanderer and backbiter 1 who amasses wealth and counts it, 2 thinking that his wealth will make him live forever! 3 By no means. He will be thrown into Hutama. 4 And what will make you realize what the crushing disaster is? 5 (It is) the fire of Allah, kindled, 6 Which will climb on to the hearts. 7 Verily it shall close upon them, 8 In pillars stretched forth. 9
God the Almighty always says the truth.
