[AND] the dwellers of the wooded dales [of Madyan] gave the lie to [one of God's] message-bearers 176 when Shuaib said to them, 'Will you not be godfearing? 177 I am a trustworthy messenger to you: 178 Therefore guard against (the punishment of) Allah and obey me: 179 I ask of you no wage for this; my wage is only with the Lord of the Worlds. 180 ۞ “Measure in full, and do not be of those who reduce.” 181 And weigh with the true balance. 182 And do not deprive people of their due and do not commit abuse on earth, spreading corruption. 183 And guard against (the punishment of) Him who created you and the former nations. 184 They said: "Thou art only one of those bewitched! 185 You are only a human being like ourselves. Indeed we think you are a liar. 186 Drop down on us lumps from heaven, if you are one of the truthful' 187 Shuayb said: "My Lord knows well all what you do." 188 But they belied him, so the torment of the day of shadow (a gloomy cloud) seized them, indeed that was the torment of a Great Day. 189 Surely in that is a sign, yet most of them are not believers. 190 And verily! Your Lord, He is indeed the All-Mighty, the Most Merciful. 191
