The Spider (Al-Ankaboot)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ Alif Lam Mim. 1 Do men think that they will be left alone on saying, We believe, and not be tried? 2 We did test those before them, and Allah will certainly know those who are true from those who are false. 3 Do the evil-doers think they can escape Us? How terrible is their judgment? 4 Whoever hopes for the Meeting with Allah, then Allah's Term is surely coming. and He is the All-Hearer, the All-Knower. 5 And whoever strives hard, he strives only for his own soul; most surely Allah is Self-sufficient, above (need of) the worlds. 6 Those who believe and work righteous deeds,- from them shall We blot out all evil (that may be) in them, and We shall reward them according to the best of their deeds. 7 We have charged man, that he be kind to his parents; but if they strive with thee to make thee associate with Me that whereof thou hast no knowledge, then do not obey them; unto Me you shall return, and I shall tell you what you were doing. 8 And those who accepted faith and did good deeds – We shall indeed include them among the virtuous. 9 And among men is he who says: We believe in Allah; but when he is persecuted in (the way of) Allah he thinks the persecution of men to be as the chastisement of Allah; and if there come assistance from your Lord, they would most certainly say: Surely we were with you. What! is not Allah the best knower of what is in the breasts of mankind. 10 God will surely know the believers and know the hypocrites. 11 The unbelievers say to the believers, 'Follow our path, and let us carry your offences'; yet they cannot carry anything, even of their own offences; they are truly liars. 12 They will certainly carry their own burdens and other burdens besides their own. They will assuredly be called to account on the Day of Resurrection concerning the fabrications which they contrived. 13
