The Galaxies (Al-Burooj)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
By the heaven, holding mansions of the stars, 1 and by the promised Day, 2 by the witness and the witnessed, 3 destroyed were the people of the trench, 4 [Containing] the fire full of fuel, 5 When they sat by it (fire), 6 And to that which they did to the believers were witnesses. 7 They took revenge on them only because they believed in the All-mighty, the Al-laudable, 8 To Him only belongs the kingship of the heavens and the earth; and Allah is a Witness over all things. 9 Verily those who affected the believing men and the believing women, and then repented not, theirs shall be the torment of Hell, and theirs shall be the torment of burning. 10 Those who believe, and do righteous deeds, for them await gardens underneath which rivers flow; that is the great triumph. 11 The grip of your Lord is severe indeed! 12 It is He who creates all things and causes them to return. 13 And He is the Fogiving, the Loving, 14 – the Lord of the Glorious Throne, 15 Doer (without let) of all that He intends. 16 Have you not heard about the stories of the armies 17 the armies of Pharaoh and Thamud? 18 Yet those who deny the truth persist in denial. 19 And Allah encompasses them from behind! (i.e. all their deeds are within His Knowledge, and He will requite them for their deeds). 20 It is indeed a glorious Quran, 21 (Preserved) on the guarded tablet. 22
