Overwhelming (Al-Ghaasheyah)
26 verses, revealed in Mecca after Drivers of the Winds (Al-Dhaareyaat) before The Cave (Al-Kahf)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
Have you received the news of the Enveloper? 1 Some faces will on that Day be downcast, 2 Labouring, striving hard. 3 (Yet) Going into the blazing fire. 4 Made to drink from a boiling spring. 5 No food shall be theirs save bitter thorn, 6 Neither nourishing nor banishing hunger. 7 [Other] faces, that Day, will show pleasure. 8 well pleased with their striving, 9 in a sublime Garden, 10 Never hearing idle talk. 11 Therein will be a flowing spring, 12 and raised couches, 13 well arranged goblets, 14 and cushions ranged, 15 And rich carpets (all) spread out. 16 Do they not look at the Camels, how they are made?- 17 And at the sky - how it is raised? 18 And the mountains, how they are firmly fixed, 19 And the earth: how it was spread out? 20 Admonish thou then; thou art but an admonisher. 21 You are not a watcher over them; 22 But whoever turns back and disbelieves, 23 Then Allah will punish him with the greatest punishment. 24 Lo! unto Us is their return 25 In Our hands are their accounts. 26
Allah Almighty has spoken the truth.

قراءة القرآن مترجماً إلى الإنجليزية أو أية لغة أخرى أشبه بقراءة كتب التفسير من قراءة ترجمات حرفية.
Reading the Quran translated into English, or any other language, is more like reading books of interpretation than reading literal translations.
