In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
Ya-Sin. [These letters are one of the miracles of the Quran, and none but Allah (Alone) knows their meanings.] 1 I call to witness the Qur'an, custodian of all laws, -- 2 that you (Muhammad) are a Messenger 3 On a path that is straight, -- 4 This is a revelation of the Mighty, the Merciful. 5 In order that thou mayest admonish a people, whose fathers had received no admonition, and who therefore remain heedless (of the Signs of Allah). 6 Surely most of them merit the decree of chastisement; so they do not believe. 7 We have put fetters around their necks which reach up to their chins so that they are standing with their heads upright, 8 and We have set a barrier before them and a barrier behind them, and We have enshrouded them in veils so that they cannot see: 9 It is all the same for them whether you warn them or do not warn them for they shall not believe. 10 You should only warn those who follow the Quran and have fear of the Beneficent God without seeing Him. Give them the glad news of their receiving forgiveness and an honorable reward (from God). 11 Lo! We it is Who bring the dead to life. We record that which they send before (them, and their footprints. And all things We have kept in a clear Register. 12
