The Mountain (Al-Toor)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
By the Mount; 1 and the Book inscribed 2 In a Scroll unfolded; 3 And the House frequented, 4 And the elevated canopy 5 And [by] the sea filled [with fire], 6 Verily, the Doom of thy Lord will indeed come to pass;- 7 Of it there is no preventer. 8 [It will come to pass] on the Day when the skies will be convulsed in [a great] convulsion, 9 and the mountains move, moving. 10 On that Day woe to those who belied 11 who divert themselves with idle chatter: 12 A day when they will be pushed, forcibly shoved towards the fire of hell. 13 and they will be told, "This is the fire which you called a lie. 14 Is this magic, or do you not see? 15 Roast in it! And bear you patiently, or bear not patiently, equal it is to you; you are only being recompensed for that you were working.' 16 But in the Gardens the righteous shall live in bliss, 17 enjoying what Allah will have endowed them with; and their Lord will have saved them from the torment of the Blazing Fire. 18 (It will be said): 'Eat and drink with a good appetite because of that which you did' 19 Reclining on ranged couches. And we wed them unto fair ones with wide, lovely eyes. 20 Those who believe, and whose descendants follow in belief, We will join their descendants to them. And We will not reduce them of anything of their deeds. Every one is pledged for what he has earned. 21 And We will provide them with fruit and meat from whatever they desire. 22 They will pass cups of un-intoxicating and unsinful wine to one another. 23 ۞ They will be waited upon by immortal youths, like pearls hidden in their shells. 24 They advance one upon another, asking each other questions. 25 'When we were among our people' they will say, 'we were ever fearful, 26 and God was gracious to us, and guarded us against the chastisement of the burning wind; 27 We used to pray to Him erstwhile; He is the just and merciful. 28
