Nay, verily: By the Moon, 32 And the night when on the wane, 33 By the morning when it brighteneth. 34 it is one of the greatest trials, 35 As a warning to humanity - 36 whether one steps forward to embrace the faith or one turns away from it. 37 Every soul will be a pledge for that which it hath earned, 38 save the Companions of the Right; 39 In gardens, they shall ask each other 40 concerning the sinners, 41 [And asking them], "What put you into Saqar?" 42 They will answer: "We were not among those who prayed; 43 And we have not been feeding the poor. 44 And plunged into useless things with those who were obstinate, 45 and we cried lies to the Day of Doom, 46 until the inevitable event overtook us.” 47 So there will not benefit them the intercession of [any] intercessors. 48 Why now turn they away from the Admonishment, 49 As if they were asses taking fright 50 Fleeing from a lion? 51 Rather, every person among them desires that he would be given scriptures spread about. 52 By no means! Aye, they fear not the Hereafter. 53 No indeed; surely it is a Reminder; 54 so whoever wills shall remember it. 55 And they shall not heed unless Allah willeth. He is the Lord of piety, and the Lord of forgiveness. 56
