Al-Muddath-thir 2 of 2
No, by the moon! 32 And [by] the night when it departs 33 and by the day when it dawns (with its radiance), 34 This is but one of the mighty (portents), 35 A warning to mankind, 36 To whoever wills among you to proceed or stay behind. 37 Every soul, for what it has earned, will be retained 38 save the Companions of the Right; 39 who in their gardens will be enquiring 40 About the criminals, 41 "What has caused you to enter Hell?" 42 They will reply: 'We were not among those who prayed 43 Nor did we used to feed the poor. 44 And we used to enter into vain discourse with those who engaged [in it], 45 "And we used to belie the Day of Recompense 46 until there came to us the certainty. 47 Then the intercession of the intercessors shall not profit them. 48 So what is the matter with them that they turn away from the advice? 49 as though they were terrified asses 50 Fleeing from a hunter, or a lion, or a beast of prey. 51 Rather each one of them desires that he should be given open Books. 52 Nay! But they fear not the Hereafter (from Allah's punishment). 53 Never so, as this is a reminder. 54 So whoever pleases may mind it. 55 But they [who do not believe in the life to come] will not take it to heart unless God so wills: [for] He is the Fount of all God-consciousness, and the Fount of all forgiveness. 56
