The News (Al-Naba')
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
۞ About what are they asking one another? 1 About the great news, (i.e. Islamic Monotheism, the Quran, which Prophet Muhammad (Peace be upon him) brought and the Day of Resurrection, etc.), 2 Regarding which they hold different views. 3 No indeed; soon will they come to know; 4 And once again: Nay, but in time they will come to understand! 5 Have We not spread the earth like a bed, 6 And the mountains as stakes? 7 Have We not created you in pairs, 8 And have made your sleep as a thing for rest. 9 And We made the night to be a covering, 10 And made the day as a means of subsistence? 11 And built seven strong roofs above you. 12 and placed in them a blazing lamp 13 And do We not send down from the clouds water in abundance, 14 So that We bring forth thereby corn and vegetation. 15 And gardens dense and luxuriant. 16 Surely, the Day of Judgement has an appointed time. 17 the Day when the Trumpet shall be blown, and you will come forth in multitudes; 18 and when the skies are opened and become [as wide-flung] gates; 19 and when the mountains are made to vanish as if they had been a mirage. 20 Indeed hell is lying in ambush. 21 a home for the transgressors, 22 They will abide therein for ages, 23 Therein taste they neither coolness nor (any) drink 24 Save a boiling fluid and a fluid, dark, murky, intensely cold, 25 Recompense fitted! 26 Verily they were wont not to look for a reckoning. 27 But they belied Our Ayat (proofs, evidences, verses, lessons, signs, revelations, and that which Our Prophet (Peace be upon him) brought) completely. 28 and everything We have numbered in a Book. 29 So taste you (the results of your evil actions); no increase shall We give you, except in torment. 30
