Overwhelming (Al-Ghaasheyah)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
Hath there come unto thee the story of the Enveloping Event? 1 On that Day faces shall be humbled, 2 Labouring, striving hard. 3 Scorched by burning fire, 4 given to drink from a boiling spring. 5 They shall have no food but of thorns, 6 which will neither fatten them nor satisfy them. 7 Faces on that Day shall be delighted, 8 Glad with their endeavour (for their good deeds which they did in this world, along with the true Faith of Islamic Monotheism). 9 They will be in a lofty Garden 10 Wherein they will hear no unsuitable speech. 11 Therein shall be a spring running! 12 Within it are couches raised high 13 and goblets placed ready, 14 and arranged cushions 15 and well spread carpets. 16 Will they not then consider the camels, how they are created? 17 And at the heaven, how it is raised? 18 And at the mountains, how firmly they are reared? 19 And the earth, how it is made a vast expanse? 20 (Muhammad), preach; you are only a preacher. 21 thou canst not compel them [to believe]. 22 Except whoever turns away and disbelieves – 23 him will God cause to suffer the greatest suffering [in the life to come]: 24 Truly, to Us is their return; 25 Then indeed, upon Us is their account. 26
