The Forenoon (Al-Duhaa)
11 verses, revealed in Mecca after Dawn (Al-Fajr) before Cooling the Temper (Al-Sharrhh)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
By the midday brightness 1 and by the calm of night, 2 your Lord has not forsaken you, nor is He displeased with you, 3 And surely what comes after is better for you than that which has gone before. 4 And verily, your Lord will give you (all i.e. good) so that you shall be well-pleased. 5 Did He not find thee an orphan and give thee shelter (and care)? 6 Did He not find you perplexed, and show you the way? 7 And He found thee in need, and made thee independent. 8 Therefore, treat not the orphan with harshness, 9 And do not drive the beggar away, 10 And keep recounting the favours of your Lord. 11
God Almighty has spoken the truth.
