The Night (Al-Layl)
21 verses, revealed in Mecca after The All High (Al-A'alaa) before Dawn (Al-Fajr)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
By the night as it envelops; 1 and by the day as it appears radiantly, 2 Consider the creation of the male and the female! 3 Your striving is most surely (directed to) various (ends). 4 So he who gives (in charity) and fears (Allah), 5 And believed the best matter to be true 6 We will make smooth for him the path of ease (goodness). 7 But as for him who hoardeth and deemeth himself independent, 8 And rejects goodness, 9 We will indeed make smooth for him the path to Misery; 10 and his wealth shall be of no avail to him when he perishes. 11 Surely it is for Us to show the Right Way, 12 and to Us belong the hereafter and the worldly life. 13 Therefor have I warned you of the flaming Fire 14 None shall roast therein but the most wretched, 15 Who belieth and turneth away. 16 But those most devoted to Allah shall be removed far from it,- 17 Who giveth his wealth that he may grow (in goodness). 18 And no one has with him any boon for which he should be rewarded, 19 seeking only the Face of his Lord, the Most High, 20 and such, indeed, shall in time be well-pleased. 21
Allah the Almighty always says the truth.
