▼ 52 The Mountain

Therefore continue to remind, for by the grace of your Lord, you are not a soothsayer, or a madman. 29 Or say they: a poet for whom we wait some adverse turn of fortune! 30 Say: Wait, for surely I too with you am of those who wait. 31 Do their minds command them this [i.e. to tell a lie against you (Muhammad SAW)] or are they people exceeding the bounds (i.e. from Belief in Allah to disbelief). 32 Or do they say: "He has fabricated it?" In fact, they will never believe. 33 (If they are truthful in this), then let them produce a discourse of similar splendour. 34 Or, were they created out of nothing? Or, were they their own creators? 35 Or did they create the heavens and the earth? Nay! they have no certainty. 36 Do they possess the treasures of your Lord? Or are they the treasurers? 37 Or do they have a ladder whereon they can climb and attempt to listen (to what is transpiring in the Higher Realm)? Then, let any of them who has listened to it produce a clear proof of it. 38 Or, has He daughters, and they sons? 39 Or askest thou (Muhammad) a fee from them so that they are plunged in debt? 40 Or have they [knowledge of] the unseen, so they write [it] down? 41 Seek they to lay a plot? Then those who disbelieve it is they who shall be plotted against. 42 Or have they any god beside Allah? Glorified be Allah from all that they ascribe as partner (unto Him)! 43 Were they to see a piece of the sky falling (on them), they would (only) say: "Clouds gathered in heaps!" 44 so leave them alone till they face the Day on which they will be struck dumb, 45 Their deception will not avail them in the least on that day, nor will they be helped. 46 But, verily, for those who are bent on doing evil, there is suffering in store [even] closer at hand than that [supreme suffering in the hereafter]: but most of them are not aware of it. 47 Now await in patience the command of thy Lord: for verily thou art in Our eyes: and celebrate the praises of thy Lord the while thou standest forth, 48 and glorify Him after the setting of the stars. 49

How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
